The 21st century will eventually be defined by history as the clash of civilizations or the dialogue of civilizations. We believe that destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice: it is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved. Free men and women can slant the future toward dialogue and cooperation. Intolerance and hatred is the fruit of ignorance. The cure is education.
The world has entered a new age where we can no longer tolerate the politics of hatred and division based on a misinterpretation of the Bible and the Koran. For our planet to survive, we must learn to practice the ethics of love, tolerance and compassion. The solution is to understand the Holy texts as they were meant to be understood, in the light of reason and the truth of objective reality. The long held definition of truth is that it is always consistent within itself. There are no contradictions. Surely the God of the Bible and the Koran, as viewed by its believers, must be a God of truth? This means we must with full integrity and intellectual honesty accept all truth wherever it leads us. This includes scientific truth judged impartially and through empirical evidence. The truth has implications for the exegesis of holy texts.
Our mission is to publish specific works that will foster understanding, compassion and tolerance between the world's major religions, peoples and cultures. Daniel Samson's God and Evolution? The Implications of Darwin's Theory for Fundamentalism, the Bible and the Meaning of Life—is the kind of book that can make a difference in our world. We hope you will consider purchasing it and giving it as a gift to those who can help us spread this message of hope.
